In over two decades of serving communities, companies, institutions and individuals, LandWorks has cultivated a broad spectrum of skills and experience. Our work has spanned several disciplines and has evolved to address critical areas of concern for the future of our built and natural environment.

See the list on the left for a small sampling of our work in landscape architecture, planning and environmental graphic design.

Landscape Architecture

Engaging and memorable outdoor spaces cultivate our sense of place. A well planned, contextually designed landscape provides multiple benefits to those who live, work and play in its embrace. The legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted and the inspiration of our natural environments guide LandWorks in our practice of Landscape Architecture. LandWorks is also developing expertise in energy conservation and planning for renewable energy projects.

Our success with different client groups include long term relationships with a number of municipalities, colleges and universities, state agencies as well as ongoing association with private sector companies and non profit organizations.

Planning

LandWorks has a long standing commitment to working in an inclusive and synergistic fashion with stakeholders to facilitate successful planning projects. Our technical capabilities coupled with our broad perspective over many years of practice enable us to create appropriate content for town plans, zoning bylaws, design guidelines and development standards. We work effectively with communities to establish a vision for the future and to reach consensus on challenging planning decisions. Through the use of tools such as GIS mapping, site assessments, surveys, community workshops and interactive planning strategies, visualization technologies, electronic media and environmental education, LandWorks can tackle almost any type of planning project.

Graphic Design

Through our in-house subsidiary, Sensible World, we’re fully equipped to handle any type of graphic design project. We can provide digital 3D modeling, visual simulations, interactive mapping methodologies, publication design and audio-visual presentations. One distinct area of focus includes branding and identity design for a wide range of applications including banking institutions, destination communities, and new products. We have developed wayfinding systems for campuses, communities and regions. Our branding and wayfinding work includes assisting in the development of pedestrian planning and information strategies for the 2002 Winter Olympics and the recent development of a comprehensive wayfinding program for a major western resort region.
