LandWorks was commissioned by the City of Manchester to develop a comprehensive directional, informational and pedestrian wayfinding system that includes kiosk designs and unique parking directional and entry identification elements. Work has been based on a comprehensive analysis of existing conditions and needs. A traffic study conducted for the Town of Manchester found that search patterns for parking contributed substantially to downtown traffic congestion.  The Town turned to LandWorks for a solution to this congestion.  In response, we planned, designed and implemented an innovative Park and Walk program that addressed both pedestrian wayfinding and safety needs in the heart of their commercial district.  That program linked and identified municipal parking with walkways, crosswalks, signing, kiosks and walking maps.  As a result, more people are walking and there is less reliance on vehicles to take the visitor from location to location within the district.
